yay got check today

Got my check for a voiceover gig I did last month. Feeling awesome!

Will deposit tomorrow. It's a great pre-holiday gift and a reminder towards what I plan for next year. Feeling awesome!

Got a reminder from a voiceover company to check out going 'premium' but the jobs so far that I see aren't that very impressive or numerous. Should I really be throwing my money away on this one?

voiceover gig went well, done in an hour

And it was, as some like to say, 'easy peasy'! I already have my 15, 30 and 60 second voice segments, and it's to air on local radio already. Now it's a matter of getting paid. I'm definitely psyched!

Meanwhile, the SVU episode where I appear as a juror showed this past week and you can see me for like two seconds behind Christine Lahti. Then this week on Bored to Death, the ep where I appear as part of a Russian restaurant club scene is to air. It's wild to see how these things are finally coming to light.

I put in for a background gig this weekend but I haven't heard anything. At this point, the only time I can work background is on a weekend. My focus is more on voiceover work. I want to do more paying gig ones! Let's see what happens next.

Went to a friend of a friend's off-off-off-off-Broadway show. It was pretty cute, I had a laugh or two. It's good to support your fellow actors.

happy dance

Awaiting news on the voiceover project. I figure they will send slides too, just anticipating.

I had to give them a new time slot as I'm not available during the day as much anymore. I held my breath for a bit but great news, they can work with the time! I'm very excited.

got the gig and the nod!

The first SVU I was on showed up on the season premiere. I see me for a brief second standing by as a crime scene on-looker in the beginning sequence.

Beyond thrilled. I looked good. The next one is where I appear as one of the jury. Yay!

Got word finally from the potential voiceover gig. Got it! It's been given the nod from the client, so we meet to do the taping. I am beyond thrilled. Yayyyy!

radio voiceover update

Actually got a response from the voiceover project. They are awaiting a finalization on their project before quoting me a rate.

I didn't think I'd hear anything. They could be b.s.ing me but it was a nice reply. Have yet to get the finished prior project in the mail.

If I get that, then maybe I'll believe they are really waiting on that client before sending me the quote.

Trying not to get too excited about it.

I wish I could be rich enough to pay someone to listen to me complain. I want someone to offer me a way out, or at least bring me viable solutions that are reachable for me. Oh, what the hell.

A part of me wishes someone wise would advise me of the answer that's been in front of me all this time, and that it's obvious and easy to achieve that I breathe a sigh of relief and go "aha! so simple, so blessedly wonderfully simple, I can do that, WOW! no problem YAY doin' it now."

Until that elder arrives with that precious insight, I'm continuing to wade through the transparent sticky jello that is my life situation right now.
